Lewis Family Descendants
Dear Family,
Thank you for your interest in joining the Lewis Family Descendants society of Betty Washington and Fielding Lewis, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. The society’s membership brochure, the Application for Membership, the Help Guidelines for the Application and the Lewis Family Newsletter are included here.
Application
After completing and signing your Application for Membership, photocopy the application and send both copies to the Lewis Registrar, as explained in the Application Guidelines. Both copies of the application must be signed by you and your sponsor.
If you are a member of the National Society of the Washington Family Descendants or the Jamestowne Society, and your line goes through Betty Washington Lewis, you will not need to submit the actual documentation for the Lewis Family Application. Just enclose a copy of your approved NSWFD or Jamestowne Application, and where the Lewis Family Application requests documentation, simply write “See approved application of the NSWFD” or “the Jamestowne Society.” Members of your immediate family, who are not listed on the approved application, will have to document themselves to your approved Washington or Jamestowne Application, such as birth certificates.
June Heritage Weekend
As you can see in the newsletter, we’re going to have quite an interesting and entertaining reunion in Alexandria this June. Bring your children and/or grandchildren to participate in these family and historically patriotic events.
We have wonderful room rates at the Residence Inn. A “Once In A Lifetime” opportunity to have a colonial dinner at Woodlawn, the Plantation home of Lawrence Lewis and Nelly Parke Custis is a special treat. We will provide transportation to and from the hotel while we travel in the Alexandria area. All meals are included.
