Descendants of Betty Washington and Fielding Lewis
Welcome to the Lewis Family Descendants
The Lewis Family Descendants society is dedicated to the memory of Betty Washington and Fielding Lewis, Sr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
This lineage society encompasses those descendants of Welsh emigrant John Lewis (1594-1657) and great-great grandfather of Fielding Lewis, Sr. who have an interest in that ancestry and a desire to support the mission of the society.
The society explores, records and does honor to the illustrious history of the descendants and ancestry of the Lewis Family in Virginia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The society supports the George Washington Foundation that owns and operates the Betty Washington and Fielding Lewis, Sr. mansion in Fredericksburg, known as Kenmore, and Ferry Farm, the childhood home of Betty and George Washington. www.kenmore.org
Along with a periodic newsletter published for its members, the society hosts membership gatherings at family related locations in Virginia that include Kenmore, Ferry Farm, Mount Vernon, Warner Hall and Colonial Williamsburg.

Fielding Lewis (July 7, 1725 – December 7, 1781) was an American merchant, member of the House of Burgesses and a Colonel during the American Revolutionary War.
